# 1001 Barrel Aged Imperial Rye Brown Ale - what the bottle says -
In early 2020 we brewed our 1001st beer! We love brown ales for their complexity and after spending four months in bourbon barrels you'll get strong oak amongst chocolate, vanilla, caramel and dark honey. It took seven years to get to this brew so sip slowly. Cheers!
IBU - 30
ABV- 8%
Malt - rye, coopers ale, crystal, crystal dark, chocolate and caramel.
Hops - Williamette & super pride
Bottled by hand and individually waxed this beer is a very complex treat. There are layers of dark malts wound into bourbon barrel characteristics of vanilla, bourbon and charred oak.
This beer is tasting great now and will cellar over the next 18 months. The bottles had a slow secondary fermentation over a period of 3 weeks.

FLOWERS IN THE HAZE / HAZY IPA
The can says- we've played with whole hop flowers in a few hazies but have never gone all out. So here it is! The whirlpool was jam packed with the raw fruity punch of Enigma and Motueka and then balanced by Ella's floral notes. Then on to a double dry hop for good measure. Flowers in the Haze!
ABV: 6.0%
IBU: 50
Hot side flowers: Motueka, Ella & Enigma
Dry hops: Jester, Mosaic & Citra
Malts: Malted Wheat, Oats, Coopers Ale & Carapils
Giving a big shout out to Ben & Ryan for pulling this one off. Being gready with flowers nearly ended badly before they both saved the day with some quick piping changes! 👍🍺
If you're into hops then this is a cracker - massive complex layers of citrus and passionfruit are complemented by floral notes with lingering dark fruits and earthiness from the Jester. The simple and slightly sweet malt base holds up well to the medium bitterness and hint of resin.
